No it wasn't a log home Jim. and unfortunately it is no longer there. Some of the outbuildings are still there (chicken house, outhouse, barn) but they are in bad condition now too. No on has livid there in over 30 years and the old farm is now owned by Auburn University. It was one of North Alabama's first tree farms.

Yes we do have snow. Not as much as we used to but still some.

What beautiful pics of the cotton field and your family home. What a beautiful home it was.
Beautiful home, Red...and large.
Is it a log building, or is it the siding that gives it that look??
Thanks for the snap from the past. Is the home still there, Red?

Sorry to hear about the house, Red. Is the farm being used now, or what is Auburn doing with it?
Again, thanks for the glimpse into the beautiful past.

Auburn cut and sold most of the huge pine trees and erected a sign. I think they made out really good. :) I'll include a photo of their sign.
What a lovely setting and a huge old house. Too bad it's gone. Bet it held lots of memories for you.
